The Food Forest Texel

From guests, we often heard that the Food Forest Texel is a super fun place to visit. It made us so curious that we decided to take a look ourselves. We can indeed confirm: the Food Forest Texel is really worth a visit!

Food forest from April 1st to November 1st

From April 1st to November 1st, you can visit this forest and pick your own fruit, vegetables, and other crops! How fun is that?

Farm shop

Upon arrival, you walk up to a large greenhouse, the farm shop. Inside, you can relax with a cup of coffee, tea, and a homemade cake. Grab a book from the bookshelf and enjoy spending the whole afternoon in the greenhouse. You can also shop for local products to take home here. How about some jam or a bottle of advocaat?

Picking fresh fruits and fresh vegetables

If you want to pick strawberries, zucchinis, gooseberries, and blueberries, you go outside through the left side of the farm shop. You walk through a forest path to the greenhouse and can fill your basket with, for example, strawberries that you later pay for at the checkout. Of course, it depends on the season what is growing, but there is always something delicious to be found!

A trip for all ages!

When you go to the right in the farm shop, you will enter the Food Forest, where various things grow, such as blackberries, pears, cherry tomatoes, walnuts... Children can ride around on the go-kart here, or follow the gnome trail. If you choose to walk the gnome trail, you will receive (for a small fee) a gnome hat and a search card to explore the forest in a playful way. Along the way, you will even come across gnome houses!

The food forest is designed in such a way that you can spend the whole day there. Both inside and outside there are seating areas, plenty of entertainment for the children such as a sandbox and a labyrinth, and the most delicious fresh products from our own soil are available.
