Lighthouse Texel

Did you know that the Texel lighthouse is the only lighthouse in the Netherlands where you can see the sea from three sides? The 47-meter high tower is located at the most dangerous sea passage in the Netherlands. On a clear day, one can see the UNESCO World Heritage site Wadden Sea, Vlieland, Wieringen, and Den Helder.

During the Second World War, hundreds of bunkers were built in the current National Park Dunes of Texel. Along the Dutch coast, remnants of the Atlantic Wall can be found. You can visit the remains of a bunker in Den Helder and the bunkers on Texel, combined with a stay at the Van der Valk hotel on Texel.
